Position Description:

Perform data analyst duties for the Financial Litigation Unit (FLU) in support of our customer, the United States Attorney's Office, in the Southern District of Florida.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Review and analyze data and information from multiple sources.
  • Establish case/project files.
  • Enter and retrieve data from data bases.
  • Manipulate, transfer, compute and print information.
  • Possess or be able to obtain/maintain a Government Department of Justice Security Clearance.
  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Retrieve telephone messages on FLU phone line and route calls to appropriate staff member or forward message to the appropriate staff member.
  • Independently handle a caseload of special assessment (debt collection criminal cases) and perform all data entry in those cases, including opening and closing the files in a computer database and posting payments in that database.
  • Open all criminal restitution judgments in a computer data base, including joint and several judgments.
  • Review Presentence Investigation Reports of each criminal defendant to determine correct CCAM numbers.
  • For each criminal court case where there is joint and several liability, must determine and input the correct CCAM number so that proper disbursements will be made by Clerk's Office.
  • Obtain copies of criminal judgments in order to open restitution judgments on data base.
  • Obtain codes from CaseView in order to open restitution judgments on data base.
  • Sets up criminal restitution files and place copies of judgments in the files.
  • Review data (completeness of information, proper execution).
  • Extract data from data base.
  • Obtain additional information from other investigative agencies/data base.
  • Reconcile inconsistencies on payment posting reports.
  • Maintains all Presentence Investigation Reports in shared folder on computer.
  • Verify case files and case tracking systems.
  • Assure information is accurate and perform analytical computations necessary to process data.
  • Perform word processing relevant to case documentation.
  • Receive and distribute documents.

Work Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
